Bello Ratto Rattery (BELO) is located in the beautiful city of Napa, CA. We are approx 1 hour from San Fransisco, and a little over 1 hour away from Sacramento. I officially started breeding in September 2009. BELO is run mainly by myself, Debi, with the help of my boyfriend and family. Countless hours are spent with the rats. Feeding, watering, cleaning cages, playtime, and most importantly, socializing. Rats are my hobby, my passion, and my life. I take great pride in my rats I breed to improve the whole rat. Health, Temperment, and Longetivity first and foremost. I will only breed the healthiest, sweetest tempermented rats, and nothing less. Along with breeding healthy, happy rats, i strive for rats that having amazing type, structure, color and markings. I breed to AFRMA Standards on type/structure, as well as color and certain markings, such as self and berkshire. I do however strive to breed a lovely line of uniquely marked rats of many various markings ranging from patches of color, to large splashes and spots of color, to blazed variegated and more. For color, i breed mainly for Fawns, Merles, Tortoiseshell, and Calico. Though i also get other colors in litters such as black, agouti, beige, mink, lilac, and more. I only breed my rats from September thru June, letting all my ratties have a break from babies over the summer months. I dont always have babies available because of this. I will not breed a new litter until all babies from previous litters have been either rehomed, or will be permanant residents here at BELO. I strongly beleive in the quality of my rats over quantity. Because of this, all litters are very carefully planned out with the goal of each litter to be an improvement from both parents, and both parents complimenting eachothers traits to assure that the litter will be fantastic and stunning. We are a Closed Rattery, in which we do not allow adopters to come to our home. This is in place to protect the health of our ratties. So please do not ask to visit our rattery.
